🧑‍💻 About the Role: Software Development Engineer I (SDE-1)

This is an incredible opportunity for early-career software engineers to work on impactful challenges across geospatial data processing, system design, and software innovation. As an SDE-1, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable and secure applications used by millions.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

🔧 Engineering Design & Collaboration

  • Assist in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems for web and mobile apps.

  • Participate in scrum ceremonies – daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

  • Work closely with product, design, and data teams to translate user needs into technical features.

💻 Development & Implementation

  • Build and maintain high-performance backend platforms.

  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code in Python or JavaScript (Node.js).

  • Contribute to code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes.

  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and low latency.

🎓 Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

  • Experience: 0–2 years in software development (internships and projects count!)

🧰 Required Skills

  • Proficient in Python or JavaScript (Node.js)

  • Basic knowledge of Relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases

  • Familiar with message queue systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS)

  • Exposure to cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies

  • Experience with web scraping or data ingestion pipelines

  • Exposure to tools like Airflow or Celery

  • Interest or background in geospatial data or satellite imagery processing
