💼 Job Overview:

As an Optics/Photonics Intern, you will be part of the cutting-edge team responsible for developing advanced optical systems for the automotive domain. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about optical design, photonics applications, and emerging technologies in automotive lighting and sensors. You will work on real-world projects with experienced engineers, contributing directly to product innovation and validation.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Education:

    • M.Tech / M.E in Optical Engineering, Photonics, or Applied Physics

    • M.Sc in Photonics or Applied Physics

  • Year of Passing: 2024 or 2025

📍 Internship Details:

  • Location: Sriperumbudur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu

  • Tenure: 11 months

  • Stipend: ₹1,00,000 – ₹2,00,000 per annum (based on publicly available sources)

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and simulation of optical systems using specialized tools.

  • Support validation of optical components and their integration into automotive systems.

  • Conduct research on advanced photonics and optical engineering trends.

  • Perform statistical and tolerance analyses for optical modules.

  • Participate in internal design reviews and support product optimization efforts.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, testing, and validation teams.

  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, project timelines, and quality targets.

🛠️ Required Skills:

Technical:

  • Strong fundamentals in optics, photonics, or applied physics.

  • Experience with optical simulation software (e.g., Zemax, LightTools, or similar).

  • Familiarity with CAD tools and thermal simulation is a plus.

  • Knowledge of automotive lighting or sensor systems (preferred).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and cross-cultural environment.
