Job Description:

Avalara is looking for an Associate Analyst to assist in customer onboarding for the Sales & Use Tax Returns platform, ensuring compliance management for various filing periods (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboard customers to the Sales & Use Tax Returns platform.

  • Set up returns for periodic filing by connecting with customers.

  • Validate return setups using a checklist.

  • Notify customers of missing or incorrect information and assist with updates.

  • Complete validation before the filing/locking period for Compliance hand-off.

  • Communicate with GoLive, Customer Account Managers, and Compliance teams to resolve issues and improve satisfaction.

  • Update internal systems, including CRM and project management tools.

  • Prioritize tasks, maintain high work quality, and ensure smooth communication within teams.

Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science, or a Master’s degree in Finance/Business Administration.

Technical Skills (Must-Have):

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Good-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of Sales & Use Tax.

  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce), scheduling tools (Zoom), and tracking tools (Jira/Confluence).

  • Experience in product-based companies and SaaS solutions.

  • Previous onsite team experience.

Soft Skills (Must-Have):

  • Excellent English communication skills.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

  • Professional communication and adaptability.

  • Problem-solving mindset.

Working Conditions:

  • Willingness to work in the US Pacific time zone and weekends if required.
