About the Role

Applied Data Finance is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines while supporting robust data infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to data-driven solutions, and be part of impactful projects that shape business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Infrastructure

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines.

  • Support the development and validation of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence systems.

  • Maintain user connectivity and security protocols across platforms.

  • Develop data architecture, modeling, and ETL mapping solutions within structured environments.

ETL & Database Management

  • Build and optimize ETL routines according to architectural standards and best practices.

  • Work with relational (MySQL, AWS Redshift) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

  • Ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and platform performance.

Data Quality & Analysis

  • Implement data quality checks to ensure data integrity and completeness.

  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to support analytical requirements.

  • Monitor Data Warehouse and BI system performance, ensuring timely corrective and preventative maintenance.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Participate in requirements gathering and propose effective data solutions.

  • Maintain clear documentation of data processes, pipelines, and procedures.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and apply modern best practices in data engineering.

Required Skill Set

  • Programming: Python or Java

  • Databases: MySQL, AWS Redshift, NoSQL (MongoDB)

  • Big Data & ETL: Spark, ETL tools (preferably open source), Data Warehouse concepts

  • Cloud: AWS (preferred)

  • Data Visualization: Tableau (preferred)

  • Additional Knowledge (Nice to Have): Apache Kafka, Data Quality Solutions

Education Requirements

  • UG: B.Tech/B.E. in any specialization

  • PG: Any Postgraduate

  • Doctorate: Not Required
